To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Beccles Food & drink Festival, students from East Coast College are making a cake!

The cake cutting ceremony will be taking place at 12:15pm in front of the Cookery theatre situated in New Market.

Please come along and support the organising team and the students and enjoy a piece of cake!

2025 Cookery Theatre Chefs

For 2025 we currently have 2 chefs confirmed to appear on our Cookery Theatre. Loic Malfait from Satiate Artisan who will be demonstrating the making of 2 tarts. Strawberry and Raspberry tarts filled with Creme Diplomate and Italian meringue.

And for a completely different experience we have Julian Stoyel from Red Oak Deer Services who will be talking about the sustainability of wild venison and the benefits to health.

Festival Music 2025

This year we have 2 new acts to the festival, Pop Club Choir and Guitar Siren (see below). These will be playing along with a number of other musicians, including returning favorites Rumpus Ukulele (below), who appeared last year but in 2 new locations, Exchange square and New Market outside the Kings Head. The schedule of acts can be found hear and the locations are clearly shown on the Grazing Trail map. Having a variety of music at the festival always keeps the crowds entertained .

2024 Best stall Award

2024 winner of the Best Stall Award was Sandlings Saffron. The 2025 stall will be chosen by M+A Partners who are a new sponsor of the Festival this year.

Music at Beccles Food & Drink Festival 2024

Once again in 2024 we have secured a great number and variety of musical acts for your entertainment during the Festival.

The acts will be performing in 2 locations, outside the Welcome store in Newmarket and outside The Kings Head in Sheepgate.

Beccles Food Festival Sustainability Journey

Beccles Food and Drink Festival exhibitors are invited to show their customers what they have done to combat the current climate, pollution and extinction crisis. For the 2024 Festival 17 of them have written a “Sustainability Journey”, showing where they are so far. This included low carbon electricity, reducing driving, cutting waste and recycling.

Their Sustainability Journey forms will be on display at the Festival – do chat to them so that their good work is rewarded!

Best Stall Award 2023

The 2023 Best Stall Award went to Good To Go. The award was judged and presented by Beccles Mayor and is kindly sponsored by Sweeties sweet shop in Beccles.

This year the award will be judged by Christine Pinsent and awarded at 11am on the day so please listen out for the announcement of the winning stall.

Cookery Theatre 2024

We have once again managed to organise the appearance of the Local Flavours mobile Cookery Theatre. This bespoke vehicle has been secured through generous contributions from East Coast College Lowestoft, Fen Farm Dairy and Beccles Town Council.

As well as future chefs from the college, we hope to line up some exciting demonstrations from a variety of excellent chefs to provide culinary inspiration.

This year’s schedule of the Chef Demonstrations is now confirmed and can be found here. including details of the chefs participating.

Prior to the Chef demonstrations we have arranged for some of the stallholders and local businesses to give brief talks about their business. A schedule for these talks can be found below and these will take place in front of the Cookery theatre van in New Market.
